Frederick J. Duffy, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Duffy maintains a busy reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgical practice in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Duffy has spent much of his career focused on breast reconstruction, particularly microsurgical breast reconstruction. Presently he is performing many direct to implant breast reconstructions immediately following mastectomy which is a newer approach. Many of these patients are having their mastectomies and direct to implant reconstruction as an outpatient procedure. He also does general reconstruction of the body and lower extremity and cares for both adults and children. His aesthetic practice focuses on the breast, body and face. He loves caring for patients from all over Texas and the southwestern US. Dr. Duffy has been involved in the formation and management of several health care investments including North Central Surgical Center. He was the inaugural Chair of the Governing Board and it is now USPI’s most profitable surgical hospital in the US.

Angel investing in the biomedical sciences requires knowledge of the needs of clinicians and patients. Dr. Duffy sees the shortcomings of our healthcare system every day in his clinical practice, he and Dr. Whittington practice the adage “invest in what you know.” They made early investments in three surgical device companies in the plastic surgery space, two of which have had successful exits.
